Savory, Thyme Flaxseed Crackers

These flax seed crackers are savory, crunchy, flavorful, and naturally plant-based, gluten and grain-free.


Perfect to serve with your favorite dip!


Ingredients

1 cup raw flax seeds

1 tsp sea salt

1 tsp dried thyme

½ tsp garlic powder

½ tsp onion powder

1 pinch cayenne pepper

1 cup cold water


Tools + Supplies:

Oven

Baking sheet

Mixing bowl with lid

Mixing spoon

Spatula

Parchment paper or silicon mat

Glass jar (for storage)


Instructions

  1. Add flax seeds salt, garlic powder, onion powder, thyme and cayenne pepper into a mixing bowl.

  2. Pour in water and stir. Cover with lid.

  3. Refrigerate overnight.

  4. Remove bowl from refrigerator and preheat oven to 200 degrees F (95 degrees C).

  5. Line a rimmed baking sheeting with parchment or a silicone mat.

  6. Transfer soaked flax seeds to prepared baking sheet.

  7. Spread out into a thin, flat rectangle, about 1/8 inch thick, using a spatula.

  8. Score the rectangle into about 32 small, rectangles.

  9. Bake in preheated oven until flax seeds have darkened and contracted slightly -- approximately 3 hours.

  10. Cool in oven, leaving the door open.

  11. Once cooled, break into individual crackers.

  12. Enjoy with your favorite dips or sauces!


Makes about 32 crackers.
